Hello Toler Families,
Welcome to another amazing year at Toler! I’m Kristy Campisi, and I am truly honored to serve as the principal of this incredible school. I can't wait to get to know each of you and your amazing children.
I grew up in the small farming town of Camarillo, California, and from the time I was young, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. My husband and I are proud to call San Diego home, where we're raising our two college-aged daughters. Outside of school, you'll usually find me at the beach, doing Pilates, or cheering on my girls.
Over the past 20+ years, I've had the privilege of serving as a teacher, instructional leader, and administrator. Before joining Team Toler, I served as an administrator in the Del Mar Union School District and as an administrator at Doyle Elementary here in San Diego Unified.
What drew me to Toler was the heart of this community. From the moment I arrived, I saw a school where students are known, families are valued, and staff go above and beyond for children every single day. It is truly a special place.
At Toler, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, welcomed, challenged, and celebrated. We want our Dolphins to be curious thinkers, kind classmates, confident learners, and problem-solvers who aren't afraid to try something new. Whether students are reading their first book, performing on stage, planting in the garden, creating in our new Makerspace, or reaching a personal goal, we are committed to helping every child discover their strengths and love coming to school.
I also believe that the best schools are built through strong partnerships with families. Together, we can create an environment where every student feels a sense of belonging and has the opportunity to thrive.
